Same here, just when I' doing small things where the colours don't really matter, they're very rarely labled so I can't even put them on bobbins for later "red" and "lt grey" do not help

oh no poor you, nearly done that myself, have you tried some vanish spray lightly on fabric that might take it out

I haven't got any vanish...but thanks for the suggestion. I'll pick some up in the next shopping trip ^_^ Even if I don't need it for this my coffee habbit is sure to mean I'll wind up needing it

I sewed them on. I did a running stitch along the ouside of each character then I did erm...I wish I knew the name of it...I came up inside the aida and down outside so the edges look like this:
