I'm hoping some of you super slueths can help me. My niece is soon to move to India for 3 years. I would really like to make her a fan; not one to frame and put on the wall but one she can actually use! Ideally I'd like to cross stitch a delicate maybe lacy design. (I know I'm asking a lot. lol.)
I've been looking for a little while but can not find anything remotely similar. Have any of you got any ideas where I might find such a thing?
Thanks.
Fan. Help / advise needed.

Re: Fan. Help / advise needed.
Mary Hickmott did some lovely blackwork fan designs but they were intended fro framing and hanging.
You could buy a cheap fan, take the fabric/paper/whatever covering it has off so you're left with the "skeleton", trace the shape of the covering onto a piece of highish-count cross stitch fabric, and then fill the shape with a design of your choice. Hem all round, and attach to the skeleton. That might just work....
