Hi all. I am back with another burst of stitching my Fantasty Lady.
To tell the truth I was about to throw it and just start another one but I'd come so far so decided to carry on.
Why was I going to throw it away? well the colours are all wrong from the original picture but the colour scheme is growing on me now that I've come to do more of her face....
Thanks for looking
Me update:
We are still shaking here in Christchurch. from 2 - 5 pointers in magnitude. Although the biggest ones are getting further and further apart. The anniversary for the first 7.1 quake is on 2nd September... its so hard to believe still that we have had a year of unstable ground here in Christchurch.
I have however been creating. Fabric, Dolls, greeting cards and scrapbook pages mainly.
on your lady. She is lovely and you are doing a beautiful job. I just looked through this from beginning to end and only realized when you posted this that you are in New Zealand and dealing with quakes. I am so glad that you are doing well. and that you decided to continue with your lady. I look forward to future updates and hope that your ground gets steady soon. It must be a good sign that the quakes and/or tremors are getting further apart.

Great to see you back on the forum again and to know that you are ok and still creating beautiful things. I agree its hard to believe its been almost a year since that first terrible quake and still it goes on. I hope your home continues to be safe.
Love your progress on the Fantasy Lady and the colours are certainly unusual but lovely.
Thanks for posting

I understand what you mean about the colours not being the same as the pic, and feeling disappointed. I was the same with my 'Fljotsdale Dragon'. It hasn't turned out the same as the pic, and I very nearly decided not to complete it - but now I find I don't mind; it's not the same colours - sort of browns where it should be greens, and so on - but the differences make it more 'my' dragon, and I'm sure you will feel the same about your Fantasy Lady.
true she is very much my Fantasy Lady now that the colours are different.
Its 15cm deep in snow around home at present - good day to stitch/bake and entertain the kids with.

This is beautiful and I much prefer the colours in your stitched piece. It's amazing how you can see all the details and depth in the stitching. It has translated very well to cross stitch.
