Yay!! I like the idea of double white mattes with a silver frame too. But see what you can find that you like. It's beautifully finished! :applesauce: :applesauce:

:applesauce: :applesauce: I love it. It is so pretty. I think double white mattes with a silver frame would set this off beautifully. And give it an added festive feeling. I think you should be really proud of this.

It looks great! :thinks: The only thing that I am sure of, is that I think the frame should be silver.. I don't think anything else would give it a proper classy look  It's a tough call on the matte.. There's only really two colors to this, so it limits what you can do to blend it all together.. I wouldn't choose red because the fabric is red and personally I think you'd want to distinguish the fabric from the mat...

If it were me I would do an evergreen... it would really make the red stand out while adding another color to contrast the design.. (if that makes sense)

Listen to me talking like I'm some color expert

Thank you all. Lets just hope the judges like it too
hhhmmm.. green.. sure thats an option too. Hadn't even thought about green. And I am really not thinking they would have the right shade of red. And your right.. it might compete with the red fabric or just be a whole lotta red.

I'll let you know once I've been to the framers. Or.. maybe I'll keep you in suspense until I get it back from the framer. Alright Karen.. its on to Noel again. How far back do you think that SAL is burried.. 5 pages back? With how busy this place is.. it might be 7 or 8 pages back.

Can't wait to see your progress on Noel--it's really a fun one to do--I'll be posting a picture soon of my progress on mine--making it a weekend project for now.
Green is another good option for the matting--can't wait to see just what you decide on :)

Great finish, brilliantly done! Let us know how it gets on in the show?

I like the idea of two slightly grey mattes and a silver frame....

Re: Cardinal Christmas Ball *Framed Aug 3*

Well, here she is, back from the framer and ready for judging at the fair!
A few of the beads shifted during framing.. grrr. But I think its too late to fix now.
Sorry for the goofy angle- couldn't get it without a glare.

:applesauce: :applesauce: I think you have a prizewinner there. The frame is perfect for it also. Sets off your piece perfectly. When is the fair?
