Hello!! My name is Alli and i learnt to cross stitch about 3 months ago, after watching my cousin and sister do it for years, and now, i'm totally addicted!! I've made a few little things (to learn) and i've now finished my first big project, an alphabet sampler I know i still have a lot to learn, and can't wait to read through the posts to see what i can pick up.
Welcome to you, a double newbie. Cross-stitch is very addictive. Wait until you seriously start collecting stash...! You'll pick up lots of tips here, and I hope you'll feel free to ask, if you have questions. Set up your gallery so we can all see your first sampler. What fun!
Hi Ali and welcome. I only joined myself early hours of today. I have been stitching for many years but only now decided to find a forum dedicated to us stitchers. Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Oh the collecting has already begun *sigh* in fact, i'm bidding on a chart on ebay right now, LOL
Hey Alli!
Welcome to the forum.
Don't even talk about stash collecting! I was fine until I joined this forum, just a couple of small projects, then I got lead astray ( ) and now I have masses of cross stitch magazines, threads, charts, kits ... My hubby holds onto his wallet tightly when I go onto ebay nowdays!
There's nothing better than a good friend, except a good friend with CHOCOLATE! Forget love! I'd rather fall in CHOCOLATE!

Hello Alli, and welcome! Never mind threadbear, she's just hoping we'll shoulder the blame for her stash collecting . As if there is any shame at all connected with stash collecting ! In fact I'm hoping to treat myself to a few bits and pieces at my favourite online shop this afternoon.... *dreams off in stash-induced reverie*
Well done for finishing your first big project -- may there follow many!

Oh wonderful. I am sure we will be able to help with any questions and encouragement you may need. This is a great craft and very versatile. Look around and don't be afraid to ask questions we love it when you do.
If you are looking for some one to help change you, look in the mirror
Hi Alli and welcome. You've found a great place full of wonderful people, ideas and fun. It's been known that these people will party at just about any occasion so jump right in.
Hello and congrats on finishing your first large piece in three months. I have been stitching for twelve years and my first large project is still not finished and is never likely to be finished unless I start it again. However I am toootally addicted to stitching and I am one of the ones witha stash although I can't blame anyone but me. My OH doesn't hold onto his wallet when I go stash shopping he just holds out his hands for the numerous bags so I have both hands free to look. Last year he ended up carrying two heavy lamps around a craft fair for me and my mum so we could shop more!!
Hi Ali, you're right about this hobby being addictive - something people just don't understand until they try it for themselves. Looking forward to getting to know you on this friendly forum.
