Ooh they're gorgeous as a biscornu! What always amazes me is how you manage to pick such perfect colours to go together. The only time I've tried to come up with my own design for something, picking the colours was by far the hardest part.

Slight set-back on the door-hanger front -- still haven't touched the sewing machine

But I did make a pen holder, using Douglas   !

Lovely idea on the pen holder - it's worked really well. And the biscornu is so sweet - it's great to see how different the pattern looks with different colour schemes. Really interesting work :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

Love the colours in the biscornu. The two sides look so different just from having the colours changed.

The pen holder is gorgeous. Must go and have a look how that was done.

:applesauce: for the pen holder. Beautiful. But I wouldn't get any work done because I would be admiring the pen holder all the time instead of using the pens/pencils etc. because it is so pretty.

I've been catching up with FOF too, and glad to hear you'll have help for your door hanger. Love the pen holder and great cushiony biscornu, I love the look of the different fabrics. :applesauce: :applesauce:

Hurray, finally managed to post the pen holder instructions in the Tips & Tricks section

Have been making steady progress on Spice Islands, but I've had to spend some time getting the arrangement of dove's eyes in the cut areas right; I realised that in order to stitch it as I first charted it, you'd need to work with two colours/needles at one  . Doable, but far too fiddly for a commercial design. So I recharted, and after about 5 goes was happy with it. Hope to be able to do some more work on it tonight (even though we've got choir practice first).

Made some changes to the colours in Walled Garden -- the darker brown didn't work well with the lighter pink & blue, so I've changed it round and now have a lighter, stone-like brown/beige with a darker pink/red and blue. Now I just need to order a shade of green from Sew & So...

I didn't want to take Spice Islands when we went to visit my in-laws over the weekend so I took one of the Round Dozen which I'd started some time ago; I'm making some more gift bags so I have enough for Christmas for each of the women in DH's extended family. When I got my work bag out, I found I'd brought the fabric and threads and needles and everything, except the chart  !
But as I was already more than halfway, and it didn't really matter if it was exactly like the original, I just worked from memory as much as I could :-) and here's the result -- it uses Anchor metallic perle and House of Embroidery hand-dyed perle:
