dragon heart

Post by gojirafanatic »

so now i've almost finished my flower calender, i've started another project (since this is the year of the dragon lol) that will eventually end up being done in my work lunch breaks:

and here is what i did today

Image

it's the first time that i've worked with black aida   and it's a pain in not being able to see the holes clearly

That is a gorgeous design! Great start!

Are you using any sort of light behind the fabric? If no, you can get one of those small clip on lights. They clip to hoops or q snaps. It helps a ton. :)

:applesauce: great start on a wonderful pattern. We must have quite a few working on dark fabrics now, because I keep telling people how much I admire their being able to do that. I tried once years ago and the piece is languishing in a drawer someplace. I was so frustrated. Yours is looking so good so far. I am going to be watching for your updates.

Ohh I shall be very interested in watching you do this, it's one that has jumped out at me on eBay for the last year but I had resisted....

Well done for the progress on the black! I find it's easy enough in daylight if it's held in a frame and the light can shine in from the back, and then use the little light for the evening. You soon get used to it and your fingers learn where the holes are!

Oh! I like that! Love the colours. A white cloth behind the black aida also helps. I have a white cloth on my lap whenever I use dark fabric. A light is better, but if you don't have one...
