Change from Aida to Evenweave, please help!

Post by coffeegirl »

I plan to start my next kit which is Praying Hands, its one I've wanted to do for a while. I already have the kit and its on Aida 18, but I would like to do it on evenweave now, can I change the fabric to evenweave and still get the same finished effect?

It should stitch up just as nice if not nicer on evenweave. In order to come up with the same finished size, as what you would with 18 count aida, you would need to use a 36 count--which I am not sure is available in evenweave? Linen does come in 36 count though. And if you opted for a 32 count evenweave, that would make it slightly bigger on the finished stitching size--similar to 16 count aida. You would have to be careful on choosing that option as you may very well run out of the threads that are supplied with the kit. Hope this makes sense

Great, thanks guys.

Karen, If I did the kit on evenweave with a count of 15 would that I have enough thread to finish it and would it have the same finished effect? Would it be slightly smaller than doing it on Aida?
