Re: Sistine Chapel SAL - debating a restart
Oh Emma...... As Carole says better now than when you're further along. I'm doing 2 over 1 full crosses on 22ct for my Chapel and I think the coverage is great. It's also quite manageable to do my usual cross country stitching so I'm quite happy. See what you think. I hope you soon find something that works

Re: Sistine Chapel SAL - debating a restart
Emma,
If you're not happy with the way your work is coming, I would change it now rather than move forward. I started the retired HAED chart Eternal Promise last summer 3x1 tent stitch, and the more I stitched, the less I liked it. After more than half a page of total confetti, I set it aside and eventually decided to frog it all, which has not been easy. Eventually I'll re-start differently.
By the way, I'm doing my Sistine Chapel 1x1 but on 28ct Jobelan, and I do like that coverage very much.

Re: Sistine Chapel SAL - debating a restart
All gridded ready for bottom left restart tonight!
Fellow Sistine chapel stitchers are we doing a combined sal with updates on 1st each month as well as separate SAL's?

Re: Sistine Chapel SAL - debating a restart
Good luck on the restart Emma. I hope you get on with it better.
Combined SAL on the 1st of the month sounds good to me. I've finished the 'urgent' models I had to do and they were posted today. I have picked up Rhyme & Reason again, as I too have restarted it, tenting 2 over 1 on 25 count. Still debating as to whether I like the coverage though
. I'll post piccies once I've got a bit more done. However, I digress.... A combined Sistine Chapel SAL on 1st of the month is a super idea. I'll ditch R&R for a bit and work on the Chapel until 1st May.

Re: Sistine Chapel SAL - debating a restart
I'd be happy to join a combined first of the month Sistine Chapel SAL, too. My progress on this piece will tend to be slow, since I'm doing 10 hour rotations with 3 other pieces and also doing some knitting for my sister. I do a minimum of 10 hours on each piece before moving to the next, with Gigi R Belles-Lettres D (my anniversary sampler) getting extra time as I want to get that finished. On top of all that, I really have to get my dissertation work completed this year!
The Sistine Chapel is up for stitching today, so maybe I'll put in some extra hours on that piece this time. Due to time spent on other things, I only have 20 rows of page one (regular format) completed.

Re: Sistine Chapel SAL - debating a restart
Really pleased I've restarted this, really liking the way it's looking!! A few more evenings work and I'll be sharing what I've done so far but may start a new thread for the restart.
Not enjoying ripping out what I have previously done but trying to do a little each stitching session!!!!
