That would be a very small world!

A few years ago we were camping at a small site in Yorkshire, the children made friends with three others, it turned out that I was at school with their father, (he was still wearing shorts, 30 odd years on ) That was very strange, but, the funny part was that on the site was a family from Canada, they were very hippy-like, and the laid back 19ish son sat under a tree watching this reunion unfurl, he just sat there, stoned, mouth open, gobsmacked that "yous twos knows eachother, far out" I don't think he will ever forget that night, we really "did his head in"

Hello Ladies. Thank you all very much for welcoming me. I never experienced welcoming me like this before, it touches me. I feel I'm in the right forum and you're all my sisters in stitching.

Mabel, my inlaws are from Zaandam and moved to Canada in 1959. The rest of my FIL's siblings moved after that, don't know exactly when. My hubby is Ottawa born as well as his siblings but visited Holland before. It will be a small world if somehow my extended family is related to you and that would be cool.

I never been there but hopefully I will be able to visit and meet the rest of the Ruhlands and Merts, if not, visit places that I only seen in pictures.
