Q snaps

Post by 321 »

I have just ordered a Q snap lap frame.I already have 2 of the hand frames they keep the stitching so taught.Until using one I used a hoop but these keep it far more firm.Anyone else use them or have comments on them?

I use QSnaps a lot (both the American and UK versions), especially now that my floor frame can hold them securely, and I've done quite a few projects using them. In fact, I use them on parts of the Great Tapestry panel. The only drawback I've come across (apart from the original floor stand issue) is that they don't grip heavily worked embroidered areas. But then, I don't think they were designed to cover much apart from cross-stitching or simple surface embroidery, where the use of a cloth helps protect the completed areas. They aren't great over beads, either, but, again, a cloth helps.

They are part of my equipment, along with hoops of various sizes, roller frames and art frames and thumb tacks!

I also like the Qsnap frame. I didn't realize they had a lap frame. Will have to check it out.
