I have been doing cross stitch for many years, but have recently just started my first Haed, which I am about to restart after getting very frustrated.
It is from the artwork of Kim Jacobs which I just love, but I am working on 25ct fabric doing 2 over 1 with full cross stitch. I am spending more time trying to get the needle through the tight holes, than what I am actually doing the cross stitch.
After doing 1 1/2 pages I have made the decision, since browsing on these forums for some time, to try tent stitch 2 over 1 on 28 ct fabric. I just hope it's not too small for my eyes...
I also love Thomas Kinkade and John Clayton designs, but too many more to mention. I know I spend way too long browsing cross-stitch sites on line.
On a side note, is there any way to change your profile name? I typed my name in and I guess predictive wording came up which I hadn't noticed, but it's not the name want. Thanks.

Hi
and Welcome from another Kiwi - now across the ditch.
What a shame your HAED is giving you so much of a problem. Several on here do tent stitch and I am sure they will be of help to you.
As for changing your profile name Iam not sure about that but someone will answer it for sure. Sorry I am not much help with your questions.

I had the same problem when I was testing for my first HAED a couple of month ago. I ended up tent stitching 2 over one on 25ct. The coverage is good enough for me and it does not get as crowded as full crosses. I can handle to stitch over one on 25 ct with a magnifier, could hardly work on 28, magnifier or not.
I am sorry you had to restart, testing helped me a lot even if it felt time consuming.
Good luck!

Thanks everyone for the welcome and encouragement, yes, I hope I am not being too ambitious tackling 28ct, but at 60, definitely need a magnifier. I have thought about 1 over1 with full cross stitch, but I have to admit that with the amount of stitching that there is to do, and I have a few lined up, the tent stitching seemed a quicker way to go. Yes, I will post pictures, I love seeing other stitcher's works in progress.

Dunno what I'd do without my magnifying lamp -- not any of the fun stuff, that's for sure! Anyway, it's much better not to strain our eyes, since they are so important to us.
