Creative Circle

Post by keagin »

Do any of you remember a group called Creative Circle? I want to say it was in the late 70's to early 90's. I think it was based in California but had the similar concept of Tupperware. You would have Creative Circle parties where you would do small projects and check out the latest stitchery kits available in the catalogs. My mother used to be a Creative Circle Rep and I recently started thinking more about that group. Was also curious if anyone had any of their catalogs still. I'd love to find out what one of my projects was called.

I've lived in Texas and Oklahoma for most of my life. I've never heard of this, but I would love to know more. I hope it is still active.

I'm not sure that the original author is still around (see low post count and joining date)... Rose recently posted about this -- Try and make sure you not bringing up dead topics :)

Creative Circle does seem like a long time ago. It was a fun concept but doesn't seem to be around any more - I can find some kits and such on Ebay. I did finally find the pattern I was looking for.

 Remembering The Creative Circle does bring back alot of very happy memories for me. I was a circle leader for a few years. I loved their kits and still have quite a few left. I also have alot of their patterns saved. Does anyone else have any of their patterns or kits leftover. I have been looking for a counted cross design of theirs that has a country house up in the corner and a line of country quilts hung out to dry in the sun. I can't remember the name of the kit and have looked through so many ebay and other sites looking for this pattern. I stitched the piece in the 80's but did not finish it. I found the unfinished piece but cannot find the pattern. I would really love to finish stitching this piece. Please help me find this pattern or tell me the name of the kit.
I would also just love to chat about the good ole Creative Circle Co. As i said i have alot of good memories!

tknitter - I think I know exactly which one you are talking about. Although I don't know the name of it or not even sure if I have the pattern. But I do have a picture of the one I am thinking you are talking about. I just don't know how to add photos on here. I'll see if I can figure it out and get it to you in case it will help your search.

I have a couple completed Creative Circle projects on my walls. I thought they had some fun stuff and never did understand why they went away.
