Oops, I made a major boo boo.

Post by thegrindre »

Hi all,
1. I can't frog cuz it'll effect too much other stuff cuz I jumped around a lot.
2. I can't leave it cuz it is too obvious.
3. I'm scared to death to cut it out cuz of reason one and could create even more issues.

Can I stitch over other stitches?
What should I do???

Posting a photo will help.
And what exactly is the issue? Wrong placement? Short counting? Skipped a line?

Some times you just have to frog. But most times there's a workaround.. you just have to find it.

Major issue with frogging is I don't know where to frog from. I've already been through 3 or 4 stitching sessions since I found the problem area.
I think cutting it all out is the only answer then fixing everything that that will create.
Basically, what I've done is stitch blue over something that should be stitched white and, it's the flag. I put blue sky where my white flag belongs.

I really have only two options. Frogging and or cutting it out will be just too super major. So, leave it or just cover it up entirely. Do without a flag, in other words.

Pictures would help. I know frogging seems overwhelming, but often times you can manage to do as little as needed and not have to rework everything.

Hope you find a solution you're happy with.

I've made a decision. I'm going to cover it up and do without a main flag.

Thanks for your input. I do appreciate it.

Stitching over something leaves an obvious step making it a bit 3D.

You can cut it out without causing further grief other than the cutting. If your back is a mess cut from the front and use tweezers to pull the threads out gently. You can then run the tails back under some stitches on the back to secure the area around the bit you are cutting out.

Then restitch that area.

It's a pain but it's not too big a deal.
Myst..
