I just thought that you would like to see my latest finish. It's been a rocky road working on it as the yarn I chose is equivalent to nearly 2miles of 1strand of DMC silk thread >_< slippy, shimmery, hard to see, tangles easily...
I started it around may but never really got very far because of how often my stitches slipped off the needles and the thread tangled, but once the heat wave hit it became too hot to knit anything else and even too hot for me Tom cross stitch so I started work on this again since it was so light weight and finished it Wednesday, it time to wear it this last Saturday at a 1940s railway event.
It is beautiful. I've worked with fine thread but not this fine, more like what's used for making doilies, although I never made any of those. My sister still works with it but crochet not knitting. We both know how much work went into this for you. It's something for you to be very proud of!
Beautiful!!!! This has to have been difficult but you have done a fantastic job. It is stunning! Enjoy all the compliments that you receive. You deserve them.

Aww thank you! My dad is an amazing photographer and every time he takes proper photos of me (as opposed to snapping at me while I'm trying to talk and getting the most bizarre faces you can imagine) he makes me look absolutely wonderful. I'm always amazed at how pretty his photos always look.
The shawl did gather a bit of interest on the day. A couple on the station struggled to wrap their minds around the fa that I had made it rather than bought it. I took it to costa while working on it and my visit happened to co inside with a local knitting group who all came over to admire it, but work has so far paid the highest compliments to it. I took it in as soon as I'd finished it and naturally put it away in the cloakroom...where I was almost immediately told to bring it back out and show the customers lol
I'm very proud of it, but also very glad to be finished with it lol

Haha, everyone can knit holes, it's the placing them in the right place and making sure they don't get bigger is the hard part lol
I love making shawls though, especially lace ones. I've got one for my mil already made up and I'm struggling through another for my mum, I say struggling because I bought merino wool thinking I'd be ok. Im sensitive to wool, but merino has always been ok and now the merino is making my fingers itch, so it's a bit of a struggle.
stunning. the shawl is absolutely elegant and perfect. i cannot imagine doing that. you have real talent! and you are also stunning! what a beautiful woman you are! and i love the hat! i am a hat woman myself. but you deserve so much kudos for that beautiful creation!
