Thank you for all the lovely comments. The last 3 weeks have been very sparse on the stitchy side. My oldest, 4 and a half, just started proper school. The first 2 weeks he was on half days which meant a lot of running back and forth and little or no time for stitching. Still I'm making up for that now :D . As well as finishing the last 2 SOTW I have just completed 2 of the 4 Kaleidoscope patterns by Mabel. I am going to try designing 2 more of my own to go with them. Then make them into coasters for my Parents as a well done for finishing the decorating. Might have a race on as though they haven't quite finished yet, they're not far off. Mind you I can always give them for Christmas if I lose the race :D . Any way here are the first 2:

On a different note, my youngest seems determined to start stitching. 20 months old and she helps with pulling the needle through and the other day I caught her having a go on her own and couldn't resist snapping a picture and sharing it with you :D .

The little pieces are beautifully done...and your little helper looks adorable. It looks like she's inherited your love of cross stitching, and hopefully your talent, as well.

Excellent job on the first two pieces! I have those in my stash as well, but never started them. I should, they'd make great gifts.

What an adorable little helper! I hope when I have kids I can get them to love it as well!

Thank you for all the lovely comments. She is a sweety isn't she :D
Well I have just finished my first Hardanger design and though I don't think it really fits with the Kaleidoscope ones, I'm quite please with it. What do you think? With? or without beads?

I think both pics are lovely. Is it two different stitchings because the colors look similar but different or is it the photos? I sometimes have the piece looking completely different in the photos because of the light. Regardless, I think the piece with the beads actually looks finished and a bit more elegant than the one without. However, if I hadn't seen the "with beads" I would still have said that it looks lovely because it does! :applesauce: :applesauce:

It's the photo's. The first was taken in the afternoon in sunlight which seems to have made the colours a little paler. The second was taken in the evening under my new lamp :D Thank you for the lovely comments, I was very nervous about posting this, but now a little more confidant about designing and posting :D

What a lovely design! I like your backstitch swirls and personally I'd definitely go for the beaded version, it's as though you added punctuation to a story :-)

The centre of the design would definitely go with Kaleidoscope but I see what you mean about the whole, perhaps the swirls are too unlike to fit in with the others. Of course this simply means you'll have to design three others to go with it :-D ! (You'd be surprised how often I end up with a new set of designs for just that reason...)
