Hello from Fredericksburg, VA

Post by Chellie »

Greetings!

I learned to cross stitch at the age of 9 or 10. At the age of 33 I am returning to my love of cross-stitching & hand embroidery.
I found that I still had a few supplies & books stashed away. I began a few weeks ago with small cross stitch projects. I now feel comfortable beginning a bigger project in the next week.

I am excited to meet new people who share the love of the art of cross stitch as well as tips & tricks.

Happy Stitching!!

Greetings from Colorado. What kinds of projects do you like to work on? I hope you'll share pictures...we love pictures here.

Whether you're new to cross stitching, been doing it forever, or getting back into it, there is always more to learn on this forum, with lots of talented people willing to share their tips and techniques. I've only been here since April, but boy have I learned (and spent!!) a lot, even though I've been stitching for ~30 years.

Welcome from Oregon! I've visited Fredericksburg a few times, it is such a neat town! Is a Everything Cross Stitch still there? Loved that shop! :)

Aloha from Honolulu. Glad you're joining in here. My son lives in Colonial Beach and works at Best Buy in Fredericksburg. Please -- please! -- let me know if there is a cross stitch store in town. If so, I could make very good gift lists for myself! Enjoy the forum.

My favorite projects to work before were quilt patterns, animals & birds, scenery, I guess the list goes on & on, LOL!! I am presently beginning a Lion pattern - my first big project in years. I will definitely post pics as I progress.

As far as I know there aren't any local cross stitch stores - I have a friend who works at a yarn shop downtown, she is asking around for me and I will keep you posted.

As far as I know, Everything Cross Stitch is no longer there. I have a friend asking around for a cross stitch shop.

Thank you all for such a warm welcome!

Hello! This could be my post. I too learned to stitch early, but have picked it up intermittently over the last 20 years. Can't wait to see your projects.
