Here's my slightly blurry floss toss for Glendon Place's Tiramisu:
I did actually start last night (I needed something to keep my mind off the following paragraph) but you really can't see anything impressive yet. I'm sure I will update soon! I still have to finish the small amount of white left on my LHN "Snow in Love ornament" but I really wanted a new start. It's on Crafty Kitten's Peach Sorbet (or something with a really similar name). It's super pretty fabric and I"m glad I went for her suggestion!
Sad news ahead:
My mom called me last night and let me know that she had taken my cat to the vet over the weekend because the two cats they have (one is mine, one is my mom's, we had a third but he passed away like 7-8 years ago) had gotten into it and my cat's eye was looking bad. My mom assumed it was because of the fight they had gotten into but the vet had a different opinion. He thinks that she has cancer. There is a cancer treatment center for cats in my city, but she's 14 years old and the vet didn't think she would have a very good chance to make it through the treatment (it's on her face). The vet gave us some eye drops and antibiotics for her for now.
I got her in the 8th grade (13 years ago) and I had left her at my parents' house when I moved in with my husband because he already had a cat and I was afraid with her advanced age, she wouldn't adjust well to the new surroundings and a new cat (even though my husband's cat is the chillest cat ever, it probably would have been fine). I'm getting all weepy writing this. I hate losing pets!
2014 has not been kind to us so far. My husband's grandmother passed away last month, one of his good friends has an inoperable brain tumor (he just turned 30), then while on the phone with another friend about the brain tumor friend he told us that his mother has stage 4 stomach cancer and is having issues with the chemo and has to scale back on it... I hate to wish away time, but I want 2015 to hurry up... or restart 2014 please. The weather here isn't helping anything. I love the winter, but this one has been much too harsh for my liking and I'm getting depressed without seeing the sun in months.
