yet another parking question
Okay so I have started parking on my butterfly fairy which I am doing on 22 ct with full crosses and it's going great so far. My question is how can I park if I'm doing tent stitching? What I mean is okay if I'm going from right to left then my stitch starts from the bottom left to the top right but if I'm going from left to right then it's from the top right to bottom left. With parking I know you park the threads in the bottom hole but if I start with the bottom hole all the time then wouldn't it just be half stitches instead of tenting? Okay now that this is as clear as mud, any help is appreciated.

Re: yet another parking question
you would park where you need to start the stitch. if thats the top right than thats where you park it.
Ive never done a project in tent stitch but thats just what makes sense to me.

Re: yet another parking question
This is the main reason why I don't tent, I can't figure out how to park with it! The only thing I can think of is to somehow mark every other row with a highlighter so that you can tell at a glance which direction the row is going, and then park in the appropriate spot... but then when yu reach a thread, how do you tell whether it is parked to go upwawrds or downwards?
The other thought I just had while typing the above is maybe mark every other row, and then on the 'odd' rows that have you stitch from top to bottom and right to left, to park in the bottom of the right most stitch in that row.. so that you're stitching that one stitch as a half cross, and then reversing direction for the rest of the stitches in the row? I'm not completely sure that makes sense or would work, but I might give it a try sometime.
Anyone else who parks and tents, please speak up - I'd love to hear how you do this!

Oh! A parking question!
I've gotten the hang of it and am doing very well. I'll bet I can answer a parking question.
Oh. . . . tenting. . . . I don't tent. Nevermind. :::goes back to her seat:::

I can't believe I am answering a question about parking
Ok I tent using the continental stitch method. When I park my thread I still put them in the bottom left hole and I also mark with a different color hightlighter the position on the pattern. When I reach them I know what symbol they are, I thread the needle and only then , if needed, I move the thread to the right hole to start my first tent stitch...
have done a full page with this method and it is working well for me.
Hope it is understandable...I know I am using very bad english, but I am not even sure I can explain this better in italian

Get outta my head. That was my exact thought process. I've considered tenting before but because I don't know how to combine it with parking, it ain't happening.Allyn wrote:Oh! A parking question!I've gotten the hang of it and am doing very well. I'll bet I can answer a parking question.

It's what I'd do, too, if that makes any difference. (goes back to editing)
