Hello from South East England

Post by MattieT »

Been stitching for a few years and finally decided to search for a cross stitch forum.

Really looking forward to getting to know people.

As soon as I figure out how to attach pictures, I will share a picture of my latest project. :wip:

This is something I did a few years ago when my eldest who was about ten years old at the time was studying the Egyptians at school.

I know I have welcomed you already but wanted to add how lovely the piece is that you posted! The Egyptian is exquisite!

Thank you so much Carole.

When I started it, I thought it would be a relatively quick project as the face is pretty much symmetrical. Little did I realise that there were eleven shades of yellow/gold in the face alone!

All in all, it took me months to finish.

A little bit of background...

I was born in Malta (my Dad served in the Royal Navy) and then went home to Wales (my parents Country of birth) at around two years old. I consider myself Welsh first, second and last.

In 1982, the prospects of a better job (even if it was in England  ) meant that I had to leave friends and family behind and forge a new path.

The finished projects below, are very much part of my Welsh heritage.

Finished, but not yet framed.
