Re: bit stuck
Yes, you would need to count the blank spaces as well as the ones with symbols---just count from furthest edge to furthest edge, blank spaces and all

And then remember to add at least 2 inches to each side for framing or finishing.

Re: bit stuck
Sorry just thought on the charts it has the square in blocks of 10, if it goes from say 10 up to 150 then height 10 to 130 would that be 150÷14 = 10.7 & 130 ÷14= 9.2 inches ???

Re: bit stuck
that should be right---so you'd need fabric that is at least 15 by 13 1/2 to allow for 2 inch borders---that will give you enough to properly frame or finish it in another fashion

Re: bit stuck
Most of the cross stitch sites i go to have a fabric calculator, you put your numbers in and it does the math

I use this fabric calculator when I'm online:
http://www.yarntree.com/java/xstitchcal.htm" target="_blank
Just plug in the stitch dimension, whether it's over 1 or over 2, and it will even add your border fabric. You can try it out with different fabric counts to see what size you want.
