A half year later since the last photo update, and unfortunately still no progress...
In April 2014 I restarted with cross stitching this Cinderella one. I still like it, and now everything seems to be in calmy waters, I've found time to stitch again
At the start in April 2014:
Where I'm now at April 14:
A close-up of the stitching done last week:
It may seem odd to start in the middle in stead of finishing the left bottom corner. I totally agree, but I've got a good reason: I would love to tweak the charts a little bit and add some fun.
Like in the upper left corner, I followed the charts and stitched some brown stitches. But I didn't liked it and I think it's a mistake because in the example there are blue and purple stitches. So I deleted these brown ones and did some blue and purple ones:
No more brown stitches in the sky:
In the center (between the two big trees and the clock), there are two odd things: a blue and a red kind of stripe:

I have no idea what these are supposed to be, and I'm thinking of deleting these as well.
In stead of only deleting some things, I like to add some fun things as well. Kinkade did this when he made the painting:

If you look closely, you might see three fun things that he added:
1. hidden Mickey Mouse (in the lower left corner, just above the tiles of the roof and under his signature)
2. if you 'follow' the path to the upper right corner, you can see someone walking: Pinoccio! Why he's walking in the painting of Cinderella? I think Kinkade wanted to add some fun details to it

3. there's someone looking through a window in the upper center part. I'm not sure, but I think it's Snow White. Is it just me, or do you think it's Snow White too?
Inspired by Kinkade, I would love to add some fun things too. I'll keep some of them as a surprise and will reveil them when I'm totally finished, but I started with this one: Kinkade painted a brown dog beside the prince. As I'm totally in love with Westies (West Highland White Terriers) and would love to have one (okay, I wouldn't say no to two or more of them

), I'll tweak the charts and stitch a white/grey Westie in stead of the brown dog. To be able to do so, I strated with the contours of the Westie before I 've forgotten to do so. So that's the maybe odd reason why I haven't finished the bottom left corner first, but started in the center with the rough contours of the dog:
You might see it better in the whole picture:
That's all for now. Look forward to your comments and happy stitching everyone!
