Sanctuary of Knowledge, HAED ,update 8/8/2017

I finally got a whole new rotation going, and this is one of my first starts. This is Sanctuary of Knowledge, a HAED, by Randall Spangler. I'm doing this on 25ct purple lugana, 1x1, and it's started in the lower left corner. I'm using the purple fabric because my LNS was going out of business, and they happened to have a very large piece of this. It's actually very easy to stitch on, light enough to see well, but not as much of that reflective show-thru as a white fabric. It is 45 pages, 292,500 stitches.
This is what it should look like when eventually done.

This is 2 wks worth, which is how long I'm planning on staying on each project, before moving on to the next. 1+ pages done.

I love this one! And have come close to getting it a few times, but I am actually starting to feel overwhelmed by what I have going on now and what I have planned, so I am SO happy to see this so I can watch your progress. It has so many neat things about it. You have made a great start

and I am looking forward to lots of updates!!!

Two hundred and ninety two thousand stitches.
That is about a hundred thousand more than I have done in my entire life.
I'm nearly 50.

Staggering.

I do so hope it's a picture you absolutely need to stitch, otherwise it'll run the risk of becoming a chore or worse.

Purple fabric=brilliant! Just thinking about ordering swatches for my first HAED. Might go with the purple, since the design also have a great deal of those colors. Might very well minimize any show through spots.

What a beautiful start on this piece. I think this is a Spangler? I have several of his HAED charts in my stash. I've got a few things I want to finish before I start though. This just might be the piece to give me the motivation to get started.
