Hi stitchers!

Post by BlondeStitcher »

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to introduce myself as I am new here. Well actually I have been haunting the site for a few weeks but finally decided to join.

I have been messing around with cross stitch since I was about 5 (oh jeeze that was 20 years ago now!) but really only got into it in college and have offically been bitten by the "bug" and started a stash at Christmas time. :D

Im currently living in Michigan where the high this weekend is supossed to be in the single digits (F) so lots of stitching will happen as I hide from the cold.

Anyways its nice to meet you all, and I can't wait to contribute to the conversations. Oh and I do apologize for any typos I'm always on my phone and the keyboard/autocorrect like to make up their own words, and I rarely catch them.

Hi Serinde!

I would guess its the brutally cold weather that makes MI a good place for stitchers since you want to avoid going out at all costs.

Where is Scotland are your from? I studied in Glasgow in 2011 and am looking for excuses to go back.

 Hello and welcome to the forum from South Carolina!!! Having lived up North (mostly in Chicago and school in Wisconsin) I appreciate not wanting to go out in the cold. Much better off staying indoors and stitching. I think many of us will understand if the autocorrect on your phone or tablet overdoes it. I have sent some strange emails and texts and posted some peculiar sentences on here because of it. Autocorrect can be a bit dictatorial.

What types of projects do you like to stitch? I hope you will post pictures so we can see and admire them. We love pictures!

Hi Carole and Lavenderbee!

So far I have only done Dimensions kits. To be fair I have only finished 1 piece since I got serious about stitching, but it was a 14"x17" set of flowers that i did to unwind in college. So that took forever and was probably a rather ambitious starting point.

I have one piece, "Feeding Frenzy" that's almost done after just over a year working on it. Right now i am on a bit of a Christmas craze and have started collecting the Dimensions stickings. I couldn't contain myself any longer and started one of them this week.

I promise I will post pictures tonight. It will be nice to have someone other than my husband to show. He really doesn't appreciate my work very much, and can't understand how upsetting it is to frog the whole first block of the new project because I didn't bother to check if I needed a half or full stitch.

Hello from Colorado and welcome to the forum. I'm glad you've decide to join us...haunting is kinda scary. :-)

I hope you'll share pictures of your work; it's fun to see what others are doing and I know for me, it sometimes serves as a kick in the backside to get me going.
