Hello From Utah
I just joined and Im super excited! I still have to find my way around but I'm excited to see what everyone shares and Im excited to share stuff too!! I am wondering if anyone has advice on what hoops they use, i am going to be starting a stitch that is 26'' by 18'', its the biggest one I've done and i need a good hoop for it, I want one that is rectangle so that i can stitch more without having to move it frequently, I hope that makes sense!! Thanks for reading this and I look forward to getting to know everyone!!
Ashley

Re: Hello From Utah
Hi, there, Ashley! Welcome to the site.
I'm currently working on a big project, which will end up being 20"x26", and I've got an additional 5" margin of extra cloth around the edge while I'm stitching. This is the first time I've worked on something this big, and I had to abandon my usual 11x17" stretcher bars in favor of Q-Snaps. I started with 11x17 snaps, but after realizing that I had to bundle up all the extra material with big hair clips at the back, I found the extra 6 inches of width too much to reach around and switched to the square 11x11 snaps instead. These are much easier for me personally to work with while stitching, as well as easier to pack up into my tote to take back and forth to work for lunchtime stitching. The snaps are still big enough to do an entire page of stitching before having to move the material over to begin the next page, which is when I pull my phone out to snap a photo to keep track of my progress!
If you do go with the Q Snaps, don't forget to get a Grime Guard (readily available on any of the usual stitching websites) to wrap around the snap frame and protect the material from your arm as you reach around to pull the thread through.

Hello from your neighbor to the east and welcome to the forum.
Unless you use a floor or lap stand of some kind that would accommodate a wide scroll frame, Qsnaps might be your best bet. I prefer scroll frames for my bigger (wider) pieces because I can see and stitch more of it, but I have a couple different floor stands I can use. Having to hold wide scroll frames is just to difficult (for me, at least).
I hope you'll let us see what you're working on.

Hello, and welcome from Texas
I am currently addicted to these hoops made in the US of A called No Slip Hoops, found here. My favorite size is the 7 inch. I did try the Q-snap, but didn't quite maintain the tension I prefer when using something, when not stitching in hand.

So many HAEDs I couldn't possibly list them all. Current favorites are Dragon Kin, Sea Unicorns (QS), April Fairy, What's This, Dahlia, and so many starts going on. Love to cross stitch! Find me on Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/brekkana.kultiras
