Newbie saying hi!

Post by cotterpin »

Hi all. I'm very excited to have found you as I was looking for an online cross-stitch community to chat about what people are creating and get some inspiration. I see a number of people are doing HAED which I've never had the courage to try so I'm looking forward to finding out a bit more about that.

As for me, I've been cross-stitching for about 30 years when my mum introduced me to doing some small Christmas designs for a Brownie badge and I've been hooked ever since. Finishing a design has always been my problem and I have loads of UFOs! I've just finished studying an Open University module so haven't done any stitching for ages but I'm about to start working on some Christmas designs, hopefully for presents!

I have four children, 3 boys and a girl, aged 9, 8, 5 and 2 and work full-time so I am kept nice and busy.

Thank you for letting me join your forum and I look forward to chatting with you all :D

Welcome to the forum  !
Glad you've got a bit more stitching time now -- although an OU module may of course be almost as interesting as stitching....

 Hello and welcome to the forum from South Carolina! You will find as much motivation and encouragement here as you want, and perhaps even more. Hard to imagine that you have any spare time, but stitching is a great way to relax after a busy day. Looking forward to getting to know you!

Hello & welcome from North Wales. Look forward to getting to know you & to seeing some of your work posted on here. You are one busy lady but hope you manage to fit in a little bit more cross stitching as a way of unwinding :D

Hello from Colorado and welcome to the forum. Four kids and you still have time to stitch? Yay!! I hope you'll share pictures of your work with us. And all the UFO's - sounds like you'll fit right in here.

Wow, what an amazing welcome, thank you :D

Hi Squirrel - I'm in a Perth too, but Perth Scotland which is currently cool but dry

fccs - the Open University is a distance learning university based in the UK. They do undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications and you study online though some modules do have face-to-face classes you can go to.

Serinde - the module was "Technology-enhanced learning: practices and debates" which is the compulory module for the MA in Online and Distance Education which I am currently trying to do. Though I'm taking a break until next summer, so much more time to stitch (when children allow it)!

Mabel - I'd certainly rather be stitching :D

Karen4bells, Carole, Lavenderbee, vanessanjf - thank you for your welcoming messages
