Hi everyone, my name is Christy and I am not only new to the forum but new to cross stitch. I'm going through a lot right now and my work hours are short so I have a lot of free time on my hands and wanted to take up a new hobby, in addition to my first love - reading, to take my mind off of things, and while browsing walmart for a new yet cheap hobby, I stumbled upon cross stitch patterns.

So I purchased the My First Stitch owl pattern and that is what I am working on. I also have a pattern of a kitten that my best friend bought for his teenage daughter but she didn't want it so he gave it to me.

I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. It took a moment, trying to thread the needle (I never stitched a day in my life before now), separating the thread strands, and learning it all, but I think I am getting it.

Since we cover so many different time zones someone is usually around to answer any questions you have. We use a lot of idioms and slang and abbreviations and forget that others might not know what they mean. This glossary is a great resource and covers all kinds of information.
