I am a terrible forum user, I only come with questions....

And never answers to help anyone else, therefore I completely understand if you all ignore me. I would however value your input!!!!

A long time ago I was here discussing the not arrival and arrival of my millennium frame. Since it’s arrival it spent a long time looking after my HAED. I had it attached to my daylight company smart stand which I only got to use with the millennium. The two together are not perfect but it can work if you can manage without looking at the back or bend down.

The HAED is now finished!!!!! The frame stand and HAED where essentially a package.

I have now started something else with even longer millennium bars and to be honest it’s tricky. I have considered other stands and can see issues with most of them now knowing the way the millennium is. I have had discussions about getting something built but cannot work it out.

However having been working on something else, having put the stand etc away (it was in the way), on a q snap I am beginning to wonder whether I’m not a millennium frame person????

I have been trying to work out the questions I need to ask myself to decide. I know I don’t like normal scrolls, two handed stitching well I can use my rest (boobies) if I really want to but I’ve only really ever done that on HAED. What else would I be missing without it.

I think if there is nothing else I think it would just be best to revert to where I was by ceasing to find a stand option and would then also part with the millennium as I would not use it. I know I would never be able to replace the millennium due to the customer service issues but if it doesn’t work for me now and no one can come up with anything else I can’t see why I would ever want one back?

Anyone any thoughts??!

Thanks in advance

First of all, all of us at various times need to get an answer to a problem we keep chewing over in our minds and never finding a solution so please do not let asking questions stop you from participating in the wider forum should you would like to.

It sounds like you really need to sort out which method is the most enjoyable/comfortable for you to use and try a piece of stitching just by doing it that way.

I have a floor frame, can't remember what 'brand' but it is cumbersome especially to get at the back as I can't rotate the frame to get at the back easily. I have abandoned the frame itself and just use the rollers and side bars resting against the table edge so I can stitch 2 handed.

I suspect that before very long the frame will go out when our City Council has its next "pre storms clean up".

Good Luck with finding the solution which is the most comfortable for you.

I have a Millennium Frame with 16" bars (2 sets of them plus a set of 8") which I use with the Aristo lap stand. I love them! I love the tightness of the fabric which I can't get with another lap frame I have. I'm thinking of getting a set of longer bars too. I wouldn't change, but it did take me a good while to get the right combo for me.

Only you can decide whether another set up would suit you. Several members here have used a Lowry stand with their Millennium frames, so maybe they can help.

I know only I can decide......

I think you may have hit on something though Wendywombat! Yours are much smaller than those I have, I am guessing if I only had the small ones I could still balance them as I do a Q-Snap or r and r But the project I have on the millennium at the minute is on the smallest bars that would would fit.

I am obviously aware of the aristo, aware of the time it would take to get one too!! Again though it is my understanding that the larger size millenniums don’t work well on the aristo.

The lowery there are a few problems I see. Again the size it would need the long frame adaptor which I can see getting in the way. I have seen it said without the long frame adaptor the millennium doesn’t necessarily sit tight as the stand is designed to hold something square not round. And I would still need to find space for it, although it is probably less cumbersome that the one I have or the neccessaire.

I think the size aspect is probably the key thing.

I did use my Aristo with another make 20" frame and it was fine. The only problem I had was with the fabric on the frame not being tight enough! That's why I thought I might get some 20" millennium bars.

Yes there is a Loooooooong wait for Aristo. I was lucky though, I telephoned my order and I had mine very quickly and as I had already ordered the frame it saved on postage because they sent the two together.
