Here in the UK where it's still last year (unlike Squirrel, who is well into the new one), I've been thinking about Resolutions. You know, those things we usually jettison by the end of January? Nevertheless, it's good to be thoughtful, I believe, at the end of a year, and take the time to look both back and forward.
I intend to spend less time on the internet in 2019. I get sucked into the news cycle and waste too much time online.
I intend to concentrate on my UFOs, of which I have many and varied.
I intend to walk every day, unless the weather is truly horrid.
You are quite right Serinde. Here it is 9.30am on 1st January 2019.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE May it be a year OF WONDERFUL STITCHING, GREAT ACQUISITIONS and FEW VISITS from MR FROG. MAY YOUR STITCHY BUGS STICK AROUND EVERY DAY and BE HELPFUL.
As for Resolutions, I gave them up years ago. As always I have some important milestone birthdays within the immediate family so need to try and keep focused so I don't end up like last year pushing everything to one side to finish stitching in time - and then a mad scramble to get Christmas cards done etc. Well that is the plan we will see what happens won't we.

Happy new year everyone!!
My New Years resolution is to continue to stitch every day and to still stick to one project at a time.
Also to try to check in on here a bit more often than last year.

Several years ago I decided against new year's resolutions, but I like Serinde's idea of taking stock and setting priorities.
My priority will be not to waste time, and to be wise about when time is wasted.
What I mean is, time playing the occasional completely useless game may not be wasted because it's a way of relaxing in between work tasks. Mindlessly playing games so that it keeps me from doing a) what I should do; and b) what I would actually enjoy more; is wasted time, and will (if all goes well) be ruthlessly curbed
1 To finish those UFO's
2 To echo Richard's No. 1. I want to forget 2018
3 To Endeavor to Persevere
4 To understand that if any of those above don't happen it's not the end of the World!!
All of which is achievable before I reach that 'O' birthday in October!
I'm another who gave up making resolutions which are likely not going to be achieved.
2018 was a crazy year of ups and downs for us but fortunately ended on an upswing.
I do want to focus on one project but not to the extent that I become bored and my stitchy bug goes off for any length of time.
I also want to focus on the positive things around me and less on the negatives and the news.

My resolutions for 2019:
- lose weight
- finish my UFOs and stick to one project at a time
- Start on my HAED
- Spend less time browsing the internet, but to be more active on our lovely forum
1. Lose about a stone for a wedding in March which I'm going to be a bridesmaid.
2. Get control of my life and not let my anxiety and panic attacks rule me and dictate what I do.
3. Try and use my car more (related to number 2) so scared I have a panic attack driving by myself that I very rarely drive and not a very confident driver.
4. I'm so lonely (not in friends and family but in a romantic way) and really would love to find the man of my dreams and settle down. I can't live with my parents forever however much I would like to.
5. Save up and stop buying crap I don't really need.
6. Once I have control over 2 and 3 find my perfect job or go back to college.
7. Think positive not negative.
8. Finally something stitchy related - finish WIPs!
Have overgrown any resolutions whatsoever. Now am learning to be happy with every and each new day. Usually resolutions do not come true, this adds to disappointment and depression.
I remember for years was planning to learn to skate- did try, fell over a few times, managed a couple of rings, got bored and that was it forever. As for stitching, the only resolutions I did fulfill- I stopped stitching tons of cards. Saves lots of time for real life. Resolutions feel like self-imposed slavery to me. Too old, too tired, not interested.
