Lynn's Prints / Diane Graebner Amish Designs

Post by Kuschelschaf »

Ok so, I know this is going to be a major project, but I want to stitch all of Diane Graebner's Amish Life designs and cats and other animals. It's not as crazy as it sounds because they stitch up really quickly and most of the designs are pretty small. I have been wanting to do this for a while (ever since I discovered her designs back in 2011) She has a few other designs, too of Native Americans, but I don't think those are as cute. That being said, I want to do what Nicola is doing for Wrendale Designs. Unfortunately even though they're $6 a piece, she has about 215 or so patterns.  My husband suggested doing a gofundme for it since it would be a feature on my blog and it would cost me over $1000 to get them all not including materials. After speaking with the distributor, she doesn't offer discounts for large orders, which is totally understandable. I don't think a gofundme is the best route either since this is my weird idea and other people shouldn't pay for my hobby. I have a few of her designs already - things I got as holiday presents and stuff. I completed one and have maybe 5 others in my stash but it doesn't put a dent in it haha.

These are what I'm referring to if you aren't familiar with her stuff: https://www.yeoldecs.com/results.cfm?St ... 20graebner" target="_blank" target="_blank

Does anyone have any of her Lynn's Prints that they would be willing to part with them in case they have them and don't want/need them anymore?

I think it's a completely wacky and insane idea and I love it :-D - you go for it!
I know the whole outlay sounds like a lot; let's face it, it IS a lot! But this will be a project spread over many years, I would think, so with birthday/Christmas/anniversary presents plus occasional buying you should be able to start making a dent in the collectio. Good luck :shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock:

Some of those designs...OK pretty much all of those designs are adorable! When you say $1000 dollars it sounds like a lot but spread over time and as I do, put them on birthday and christmas lists and before you know it, you will have them all :applesauce: :D Sorry I can't help with any spare patterns as I had never heard of them until today but I hope maybe there are other stitchers out there that can help you on your way to the 200...and counting target.

Awesome goal. You don't have anything else to do anyway, right? Just as your loved ones to help out for birthdays and other life events. They could buy the charts or donate funds.

When I saw her designs I was just in love with them all. I even have other Amish inspired deisgns... it's kind of like a little quirky obsession!!

I definitely will take all of your suggestions and hope you all enjoy going on this crazy journey with me :)

I think it is a wonderful and fun plan and I think you should go for it. I've seen those designs lots before and have always thought they were among the most charming designs. And really over as many years as it would be that cost can be spread out. And what a relief for your friends and relatives to not wonder what they should be giving you as gifts. Very reasonable gifts for sure! Can't wait to see them being stitched!

Ha ha, You don't know how relieved I was to discover that I can't get these charts in the UK! (or at least not under twice the price) I did have a sneaky look for them but phew! I certainly know about cross stitch obsessions and don't need any more very cute designs with kitties and animals to distract me! :D :D :D

I'll definitely be enjoying your crazy stitching journey for these ones so please keep us posted :wip:
