Thank you for the add admins, I have been a fan of this forum for just a short time but it has helped me so much.
I picked up my first cross stitch about three years ago as a new hobby, but I was completing it on and off and I only just finished it in lockdown.
I didn’t realise I actually picked quite a complicated one with half, quarter, three quarter and back stitches on nearly the whole thing, but it is beautiful and I’m so pleased.
I made a lot of mistakes though (like making a knot to hold the first stitch) so I learnt a lot by watching videos. But having all your expertise here will be lovely and it has been refreshing to read everyone else’s lessons here.
What really made me take this up again was my dad passing away recently. Processing everything that happened, I found solace in cross stitching. I’m enjoying the peace and calm I'm in when I’m cross stitching.
I also have Rheumatoid arthritis, and reading everyone’s set up has been useful. If anyone has any advice please do let me know! I have a wrist support when joints hurt from the occupational therapists. I’m trying to pace myself everyday, would hate to flare up and not be able to stitch for a while.
I bought a lowery stand based on raving reviews.
I’m a bobbin girl (thought I was stitchbow)
I have enough projects for the next year, dear god there is so much to do!
Didn’t mean to write so much, thanks for reading
