I'm not sure if I was obliged to or not but I thought it would be polite to. Especially as I'd be putting the results on my blog, which is public.

The designer was lovely and very happy to let me alter it as long as it was only for my own use. She asked to see the finished work and was very complimentary about it, which I thought was very nice of her.
