The mystery stitching can be so fun but as you say a bit scary as you are not sure what is coming next or what it will look like all together!!!!!

karen4bells wrote:I really love the gingerbread cottage--is it a kit or chart and where did you get those lovely threads with the bling in them? :D
It's a chart by Sharon Pope from the US magazine Just Cross Stitch , which Talenaya kindly sent me. I found a reference online to it here.
The threads are standard DMC with Kreinik blending filament added. Interestingly it's the same colour blending filament (Pearl) used regardless of the colour of the thread, but it works are really does look like ice crystals sparkling.
koko wrote:Great start on the Chatelaine! :applesauce: I have always wondered about the mystery stitches, does she at least give you a teaser or a description of what it will look like? All her designs are gorgeous though, so I am sure it will be stunning!!
Yes, she does give an idea of the design first. Small areas of the design are blanked out so I have no idea what is going there, but I got the general gist of it & could see the colour scheme. And I also really like her work & agree the end result - whatever it will be - will be worth it!

Tiger's back from the framer's!

Wanna see a :camera: ?

Image

The frame is a highly laquered ornate black frame with a black mount, as you can see. I mildly argued with the framer against the white edge of the mount, but he persuaded me it added to the effect. I'm still not 100% sure but then I accept my own judgement isn't always the best in artistic matters  Anyhow, I'm really pleased with the result and it's in my hallway.

Spent some time on 12 Days & Gingerbread Cottage over the weekend, & what seems like hours interminably stitching the border (Pt I)to the Chatelaine design. I AM enjoying it, but it's so big!! Am getting impatient with the border, I'm keen to move onto to more interesting stuff now!!

Will post pics of progress in a day or so.

What a gorgeous frame. The mount colour doesn't distract ones eyes from the bold colours of your beautiful tiger. I think it works well with the white edge too. It's a beautiful piece. :applesauce: :applesauce:
