Update for this week......
Firstly thanks for all the lovely comments - it is very motivational and encouraging!
Here is a small I completed whilst away for the weekend - went for an LK rather than freebie chatelaine as only 1 colour thread required:

I was umming and ahhing about using hand dyed and overdyes for this one but in the end went for plain old 32ct linen and Anchor thread in 1005. I'd forgotten how great that 'finished' feeling is - missed that!
On Monday I started SK Butterflies Galore on 28ct lilac Brittey, my first time tenting 2 over 1 (no magnifier

!):

Tenting is definitely quicker, but not sure if it is for me - think I prefer the little tiny crosses. I've decided to stick with tenting for this project to give it a proper run for its money. It may be that 25ct would be a better fit with me for tenting - or maybe I will just be a full crosses girl for life! I need to get back on the Starry Night wagon - it has been neglected this month in favour of new starts. I've also started a
freebie chatelaine design (just in case you need enabling!). I really want to start a Chatelaine and am seriously considering signing up for this one -
Butterfly elegance. I'll have to save my pocket money for a few months to be able to afford the stash kit though!!

your LK is so pretty

. I will look forward to seeing your chatelaine (free or not it is lovely)progress. How do the classes work there? Sounds interesting. Is the price listed for the kit and the class? Or just the class? I doubt I will start into those any time soon. Busy with too many HAED's now that I've discovered them, but I love seeing the progress that is done on the chatelaines.

Thanks Carole - as far as I know by joining the "class" you can then access the chart and are part of the yahoo group where you can discuss and encourage your fellow stitchers working on that design and Martina (Chatelaine designer) offers help and suggestions. You can source the materials yourself or buy complete kits from
The European Cross Stitch Company - make sure you're sitting down when you see the price of the kits

!

I looked at some of the prices when more forum members started posting threads on them. If I hadn't been sitting down before I checked them, I would have been afterwards. You are so right. One good thing about it, though, everything else starts to look very very reasonable when you buy it!

Just finished this Chatelaine freebie - really enjoyed stitching it.

It made a nice change to do Algerian Eyelets and use beads and metallics. Definitely going to stitch up the rest of the freebie Chatelaine designs - don't ask me what I am going to do with them though
Right - now I *MUST* get back to Starry Night WT.......!
