Your tree is very pretty....but I absolutely love those dragons!! I love the different colours you have stitched them both in, they each look quite unique!

They are great little dragons, and you could do them in all sorts of colour combinations -- what fun! Where did you find the design? (And who was responsible for the misshapen foot that you had to redraw?)

There was a free gift booklet in WOXS issue 177, called Joan Elliott's Oriental Collection. It's actually a very nice little booklet with birds, flowers, butterflies, fans, parasols, the little dragon, and several other nice little quick projects. Here is a pic from the booklet (not of the pattern!):

As you can see, the foot on the right, below the curve of the body, just doesn't look right - imo, anyway, which is why I changed it. I think my version of the foot is better!

And here is yet another little dragon, incomplete as yet. My youngest grandson (8) personally chose the fabric and colours...

Image

But I have also been working on my ToS:

Image

Sorry about the lighting! As you can see, I have completed another two stitch sequences: the windmill and that fancy cross stitch. The windmill wasn't too hard, but you wouldn't believe how long it too me to master the placement of the outer stitches of the fancy cross stitch! The center smyrna was easy, but those darned outer stitches... Mind you, now I know how to do it I can't believe I found it so hard!

This is it with flash, and it looks kinda washed out, but you can see the fancy crosses better

I love the tree of stitches! Everytime I see someone doing one it makes me want to try it. The dragon looks lovely as well! Your grandson picked some great colors.

:applesauce: for the dragon your grandson picked. lovely vivid colors. and
:applesauce: :applesauce: for your TOS. It is looking really good. I don't remember exactly which stitches but every once in a while I would have to take a bit of time to figure one out and then once I did, it wasn't hard but really rather a lot of fun. I love the colors you have picked for that one also.

Doesn't it just! Not the colour I would have chosen - I preferred a much paler green, but hey! It isn't me that will be looking at it after it's complete!

I've almost completed the purple dragon now, and I'm still not mad about that vivid green! I'm planning a mount that will cool it down a bit - ie: to cover as much green as possible! Silver, probably, but it depends on what I spot at the framer.

And thank you, everyone, for your nice comments about both the dragons and the tree. :D
