Hope you'll figure out the method that will work best for you and one that will be comfortable for you to work with....I find working per box 10x10 easier to follow... :)
Goodluck with this!

...and it's lovely that you got your mom hooked on xstitching now! That's great!

I've decided I miss working on this project (although I don't miss lugging it around). Since I'm pretty far along with the Trio of Bears and I have until early February to get it finished, framed and mailed AND the Carcassonne project is going to have to be a birthday present (in July) instead of xmas gift I should probably pull this one back out and get back to work on it.

Does anyone have any tips on the parking method because I think I'm going to start trying that out with the balloon in the bottom left as a practice. Once I get to the larger balloons I'll need to have some kind of plan in place.

Oh good, the balloons are still in flight! Can't help you with the parking method, I'm afraid, but you'll undoubtedly get lots of advice, so i hope you'll find a way that works for you.

Parking method ... top of page 2, Rose has quoted a post where Happiegirl gave an in-depth explanation which explained this method beautifully.

Hopefully that will help you.

I understand how the parking method works but there are still somethings I have questions about. Like since you've got multiple threads going and handing every where how do you keep them from not getting tangled up? Do you use short lengths of thread while stitching so you don't have threads drapped all over the front of the fabric? Questions like that. And probably lots more once I start trying it.

Here's an update. I think it's about 2 weeks worth. Not much, but at least it's got more color.

This is comong on really well, can't wait to see more :D

Sorry I can't help you with the parking method, I have thought about trying it but like you said I was always worried about getting all the different coloured threads mixed up and it ending up being a complete mess :thinks:

I've been working on this project all week instead of doing my backstitching on other projects  . All I did was work on the colors inside the big balloon. Overall it doesn't look like much. And for some reason it's a terrible scan. I don't know what happened to the color balance. Hopefully I'll be getting a new computer soon and I can use my scanner and settings. And believe me the fabric is not that dirty. I just don't know why it scanned that way.
