k here is how I am doing it now..picking a color and stitching all of that color in every square all the way across..then going up to the next row and doing the same color all the way across..then the next color..etc,
i am doing 2 rows at a time..and it's going much faster..
so this is the bottom 2 rows of the top right hand page done! all the way across.
I'm really looking foward to doing more as most of the rows from here on up aren't complete rows!! and soon I'll see the head of the dragon!!
I'm really into this one now and I can't wait to finish this page!
I know the SAL for the sampler will start soon so I hope to have this top page done by then..and I think I can.
The bottom 2 pages aren't much either...This HAS to be done by aug 18th for hubby's bday..wish me luck..

That definitely sounds like a good way to work a pattern! Glad it's working out so well for you. I'm sure you'll have this done before August. Does DH know you're doing it? Great progress!

I don't think you'll have the slightest problem being finished by August C-F!

and yes, he knows I'm stitching it..but not what it's for..he knows I'm stitching but not what..he never really take an interest..unless he's peeking when i'm asleep..lol
so I will have it done and framed and give it to him for his bday

Are you sure he doesn't know what you are stitching? Some times they seem oblivious but they really do know what you are working on. They are smarter then they act some times

Your newfound xstitching method sounds good...and your making great progress on it!

I'm also 100% sure that you'll finish it by before August!

i think he knows what i am stitching...but i think seeing it finally finished and framed will hit him differently. i've been working on it at home while he's at work so he hasn't seen much of it..lol..

These ladies that can stitch in blocks of gridding just amaze me I have tried to do that and I can't. I like to follow a color all over the place. My stiching is all over the place. My colors all over the place. I guess tha means I am all over the pace.

Great work! I like your method of stitching too! I do something very similar and I've found I get so much more done! I am sure you will be able to get this done by August!

normally I am too but this time I figured I'd do it the "right way" lol..
i'm soooo not right..it is easier..but feel soo odd to me to not continue up if I see more..
so I have to cover everything w/ magnets and that way I can only see the current grid square..lol

oh I think it is a great idea if that works out for you and makes your stitching faster. It is great when we find something that improves our stitching.

I'm like you Rose, I'm following on with the colours all over the place.
I was going to say that I couldn't be so disciplined as to work strictly in the blocks and not follow the colours, but the I thought of my dogs. I'm working by page and have a grey shaded area where they overlap, but even when I see the colour runs into the grey, I'm not tempted to carry on with it, because it's a different page.
So I guess I
could be strict with myself if I wanted to be. I kind of like wandering off on colour trips though!
