Love the design for your key pocket - and I love that rustica aida - I think I'll have to get some myself - so homely-looking. I reckon it would look great for all kinds of sampler-type designs.

I've really enjoyed looking through your projects in this thread, Mabel. :D I spotted some I've seen before - such as the one you did for the church in white cross stitch which I particularly like - as well as some I've not seen before. Love the Hardanger! And the pup is very cute. I look forward to seeing him finished. :D

Puppy is coming along quickly, and just keeps getting cuter! The key pocked is a neat idea, and I love the lady bug accent.

The puppy is looking more cute every day  The key pocket is great. I'm forever losing my keys in my handbag and this would be a neat way to make them easily findable (always assuming of course that i could remember to use it  )

Two in-betweenies because something came up. On Monday the lady who leads our stitching group told us that she had been disgnosed with breast cancer and will have to have a mastectomy in two weeks' time. I wanted to send her a card to... well, to show her she's got people thinking of her, I suppose. I can't even begin to understand how she feels, but I hope the group's support will be a comfort. I had a small butterfly which I stitched a while ago, and looked for a cheerfully coloured card for it -- I chose orange, which picks up on the butterfly's wings and is a nice sunny colour:

A happier occasion is a birthday. Laura is a girl in our church, she came to us through friends who are members and last year decided to be baptised. Her family are OK with it but not overly supportive, and she is quite an insecure girl -- you sometimes have the feeling it surprises her when people remember who she is and really care about what's happening to her. So when DH and I couldn't attend her 18th birthday party because of other commitments, I knew I had to do something that would show it had been done especially for her, but nothing too big as we tend to give small presents to each other.

So we got her some nice chocolates with as a personal touch a gift tag designed for her and which doubles as a coaster (yes, one of Mabel's famous coasters :-)). I'll be giving it to her tomorrow. (oh, it's stitched on opalescent white aida using rayons and satins -- she likes her bling :-))

Your labrador pup is looking really good Mabel, the lighter colours have lightened the darker ones too, if you know what I mean
Lovely card too and very thoughtful, I am sure it can only help the lady to whom you are sending it, to know you are thinking of her.
Love the "18" coaster. I think coasters make excellent gifts

Mabel, the cards you made for the two friends are adorable, and what's more, they show what a wonderful, warm and caring person you are. There's so much shortage of these qualities today, and I believe creativity, and spending your time stitching unique pieces for your friends, are a distinguished sign of warm and caring people.
I really hope your stitch group friend will feel less lost with this cheerful card (and I'll pray that her mastectomy will leave her safe and able to stitch for another hundred years). And I'm sure your 18 year old friend will feel so special with her new coaster, and maybe she might join youn in this creative world!

The thinking of you card is gorgeous Mabel.
Now for a really cheeky question  Seeing as you mentioned your coasters...do you remember you had a 'spare' L coaster left before Christmas? If you still had it would you possibly be prepared to trade it for something?
Ever since I started my new job I have been meaning to get a nice coaster for my desk at work.....
Hope you don't mind me asking.

Not at all :-) pm me your address and I'll send it to you. I nearly used it for Laura, but decided they weren't really her colours, so you're in luck!

Lovely work Mabel, the pup is coming along brilliantly, he is just adorable :) I think I saw that keychain on soneones blog, it's a great idea except I would still have problems finding them (currently have a stuffed toy on mine so I'll find it, it's a camel with big pink lips and eyeshadow on, she is so cute)

the card is such a lovely though, and a really uplifting design.

Love the coaster, the bling is fab :)
