I am finally catching up with this thread and its amazing.

The rooster is fabulous and such gorgeous colours.

A Treasured Time I have been reading in detail as I have it in my stash and would dearly love to start it now. However I am trying to be good and get further on with DS 50th birthday present before getting anything else out.

Thank you for the tip about the different shades for the first house you did. As a matter of interest Dimensions fabric is always supplied rather short at the sides. I always have other fabric on hand to cut a larger piece out of. They generally use dove grey a grey blue and white and mostly 16 cnt.

Your progress is amazing and you are doing a wonderful job of it all.

Sally

Thank you all for your lovely comments. It helps keep the motivation going. Unfortunately I'm back to work this week ( :ratherbe: ) and so I'm not getting time for stitching.

:) I'm looking forward to seeing your updates when you do start it! Its a lovely design to get lost in stitching, but it is very very detailed. However there are so many 1/2 stitches to off-set the details and blended threads that it stitches up fairly quickly.

You're welcome....it only became an issue because I don't trust kits to have enough thread so I convert to DMC and the conversion didn't work well here. If you use the threads that came with the kit, you'll be fine.

I don't like kits...I wish they would make more charts available that are also available as kits. It seems that kits are taking over the cross stitch world :( .

Welll how rude, I typed up a whole post...was going to put my pic links in and IE shut down wiping it all out! Anywayyyy....

 I can't believe its been 2 weeks since I updated this thread. I came and pulled it up because I was feeling a lil down about not making any progress on my stitching and was hoping I was wrong. Nope! I haven't had as much time in the past 2 weeks for stitching as I have had at other times, but the bigger issue is I'm putting in the shading snow and working on the lower 1/2 of the brick house so that I can do some of the detail work on the upper part of the design before moving on to the ice lake. The section of the brick house shows, but the shading snow makes it look/feel like not much progress. I still have all the white snow to put in before I can do the detail work! Oh well, I still love the design...its just moved to that non-progressive state because of the snow and the fact that the color stitches seem to change every 3-5 stitches  . Time for :coffee: and stitching!

Love this picture even though I could never live in the snow and do not really like it much at all. Your progress has been very quick on this, great work!! :applesauce:
