:applesauce: Your owl is fantastic. What amazing stitching you have done. I love that his wings are in the darker shade. He has the most amazing stare too. I wouldn't be surprised to see his head start turning around either as he is very lifelike for almost being abstract. (Does that make sense?)

That is one awesome Owl!

Well done for persisting with the wheatear stitch! It certainly paid off, and perfect in a deeper shade. :applesauce: :applesauce:

Your owl is so lovely  I have a thing about owls, especially our native barn owls.I love the stitching that makes up his eyes and the darker wings have brought out the darker splashes of colour in his body :applesauce: :applesauce:

Thank you :)

I've done the next part now, which is a variation on Buttonhole stitch. It's the shaped area below the owl's breast feathers. His feet will be going below that.

This was another fiddly stitch, done in one strand but was quite easy once I got into a rhythm. It took more concentration than anything as it was quite close work.

:applesauce: really looks good. This new stitch looks very similar to the last one, only smaller. Is that why it required more concentration? The stitches in the owl are lovely.
I think yours is very beautiful.

This is beautiful work Carole and such a clever design too. It's great that Abi is now allowing people to share their progress on her lovely designs. I started one several years ago now, but gave up when I wasn't able to show it on this forum. I still think if I'd been able to have the encouragement this community always gives everyone that I would have finished the piece instead of it becoming a UFO :(

Thanks :)
My owl has feet and I'm all caught up again now. Phew.

Image

The feet are Queen stitch. That was quite interesting to do. Not difficult or fiddly, but some concentration was needed for the placement. I've done a closeup of one foot so you can see the stitch a bit better.

That finishes the owl and we're moving on to the rest of the design next so I can't wait for the next part.
