I think it's not only the size of the picture though, it's just the whole emotional aspect of it as well.
It has such special meaning and it's a privilege to be able to share watching each part of it'a progress with you.

That is amazing! Great work. I admire your gumption to tackle this. I frequently see pictures that I would love to do and then cringe at the the thought of the time it would take me to complete it.

I'll post an update picture tonight, just realised I've done 400 more stitches and not posted it, but then I'll be so busy over Christmas/new year with seeing family and friends that I'm not sure when I'll get the time to do more. I literally have one free evening between now and 3rd January! And even that day I'll be at work all day so don't know how tired I'll be!
Thank you all for your encouragement, you're really helping, I never would've got this far without you. Hopefully I won't have cause to say this more than once in this thread - Merry Christmas!

OK, this is the update at 11,400 stitches.
I'm not planning on doing any stitching tomorrow, seeing family on the 26th and 27th, seeing a friend on the 28th, back at work on the 29th but have the evening free (so might do some then), at work on the 30th then driving to my grandmother's (an hour and a half away) in the evening, driving home on the 31st then being driven to Gray's parents' (two and a half hours in the opposite direction to my grandmother's!), staying down there the 1st, coming home on the 2nd, the next time I can see myself doing any serious work on this is Saturday 3rd January, and that's all the way next year!

I have to say, I cheat on counting the stitches! The chart is so many squares of 10 high by so many wide - which gives me the total (though only approximately, all the 10 x 10 squares on one edge are actually 10 x 9 and I'm not sure about the top and bottom edges), and then I stitch in 10 x 10 squares. Until 100 stitches are complete, none of them count!
I should get back to this a little faster than I thought, Gray's shifts got changed around at work so now we're going to be back home on the evening of the 1st so I'll have all of Friday to myself! After cleaning up, finding new homes for new presents, and doing some laundry, I'm going to have nothing else to distract me all day! I mean, I feel awful for my poor dear other half having to work when he thought he'd be off, but hey - silver lining! (In the mean time, I am still indulging my stitching bug, I've dug out a UFO that my brother gave me for my birthday and I got bored with and have been doing some more on that - pics when it's finished!)

I have been looking on this forum for a while before joining.
It was your wip and the story behind it that encouraged me to join.
I think it is going to be stunning.
Keep up the good work.
Liz
