Wonderful finish, Sally! The colours and the design are very warm and makes one feel happy looking at it. Well worth all the hard work.

Re: Squirrel's Stitching 2019 Update + Pics 20/4/19
After a long silence in which Time for Tea has hidden in the cupboard I finally got it out and sent it to the local framing shop. It is not quite as small as I wanted the finished article to be but it still fits into my suitcase (but only with 3/4 of an inch space!!!!!!
So here is the finished article.

Thanks for looking.
In the interim I have done a few little ones which have gone off in the post and I am currently busy on a batch of quilts for church to pass on.

That looks gorgeous Sally - the neutral main mat allows the stitching to really stand out, and the red secondary mat does a lovely job picking up on the colours in the teapot!

Looks really nice. The sentiment I one I wholeheartedly agree with too! (A mug is gently steaming away next to me as I type.)

Sally, my heartful congratulations on having given this wonderful work of yours the last, but not the least touch.
The framing could not have been better.
Despite my being a coffee person,I cant take off my eyes from this stitching. Very well done, Sally.
Looking forward to updates on your new projects.

It is so beautiful. I agree with Mabel, the mat’s really add to it.
Re: Squirrel's Stitching 2019 Update + Pics 20/4/19
I completely agree - there is always time for tea
This is fabulous Sally, the framing works really well and the proportions of the frame, mount and inner mount are perfect, as Mabel said the red really picks out the colours so well.
You should be really proud of yourself, this is going to be a wonderful gift and I'm certain it will be treasured for many many years to come.
Congratulations indeed

Re: Squirrel's Stitching 2019 Update + Pics 29/10/19
My stitchy bug has come back and not a moment too soon either.
The trip to Perth (WA) to deliver it to the my grand daughter was an interesting week with some wonderful times with dear son. Granddaughter was a typical teenager in that she stayed in her room most of the time however my son finally found a place to hang it on the wall for her to enjoy so all is well.
On the way home from the airport my DD asked me if I was going to go down to Melbourne in February for eldest sons 60th!!! I found out the reason for the early prompting - Virgin had some specially low prices going. After a few nights sleep I agreed it was too good a chance to miss so she booked our tickets.
Next problem - what to do about a gift. Some time ago when we had lots of Wrendale designs floating around on here I saw one and thought "that's for Kevin". Then I discovered that the end of this week is the start of November - horrors. Christmas then The Birthday and no stitchy bug.
Thankfully he turned up yesterday so I got down to work. Gridded up a piece of 18ct aida from Sewitall which has been in my stash forever. It is called Vintage Stormy Grey - its not white, not grey really although there are a few clouds at one edge.
The design I chose so long ago is The Diet Starts tomorrow
.
Once I had the fabric on the frame and got myself sorted out with the threads etc. after lunch I got stuck into the top right hand 1/4. Not a lot accomplished as it is taking me a while to get used to 18ct again - it's year since I last did any on that small a count. Here is the result.

Sorry it is not very clear as it is mostly a pale cream shade.
BTW dear son does not need to diet at all but her does love his fancy biscuits so this is just a reminder that too many can cause problems - maybe.
No doubt I will get into 'trouble' but what the heck Mum's have to have fun occasionally.

Congratulations on the return of your stitching bug. The photo is clear enough to see that you have done quite a progress on the project. And you are right- mum's jokes dont hurt.
Happy stitching!

Yay for the return of your stitchy bug
I agree with Lyudmila the photos are clear enough to see and just one click on them takes one to PI anyway.
You have made a fabulous start Sally, he's such a cute design, that fabric is lovely too.
And yes you are right Mum jokes don't hurt.
Another one succumbs to the Joy's of the Wrendales.
