The effect of so few colours and shading still amazes me! Your new glasses certainly proved their worth, Carole.
What a charming picture this will be! :applesauce: :applesauce:

It amazes me too! There are only 9 different shades in this design, as there were in the "Hands" design also. As the details became clearer as I made progress, I was always surprised.

Not sure I'd ever attempt this sort of stitching, but the result is breathtaking.

Except for adding the baby's name. Haven't decided exactly where yet. I will probably have the two samplers framed separately because I realized that the fabrics are slightly different, though the color is the same. I'm thinking of putting his English name on one and his Hebrew name on the other. I think this one was even more difficult than "Hands" was because there is more use of the lighter colors. Still I am so pleased with it (and the lighter colors means that all the mistakes I made are totally unseeable.) Thank you all so much for encouraging me and keeping me motivated. Will probably be asking for suggestions as to the best placement of his name and birth date when I'm ready to attack those.

Thanks for looking!

That is exquisite! And I love the idea of having both names on it.

A really beautiful work, Carole.

I imagine all the information should be under the picture.
Just an idea. I stitched only the name, the rest of information is on the label the babies wear at the hospital where they are born. The thing is just sewn to the birth sampler somewhere (in my case it was to the baby's wrist) and thus, under the glass of the framed picture it is kept forever and can be seen.

Finally all I have left is to take these to the framers! The first photo is the name and date in English (date is in American  ) 2nd photo is his Hebrew name and birth date in the Jewish calendar.
