We all live in hope, Mabel. I'm heartened by the fixes, work-arounds, lightbulb moments and general ingenuity of people around my corner of the world. A restaurant in the West Highland Way which sold a few wooden bits as a sideline is now a proper food and goods store for the duration, for example. We are sorry, though, that our favourite pub, which had hoped to open for takeaways, has been thwarted. If they continued, then all their staff would lose the Chancellor's 80% towards their wages -- the business being "up and running", even if they couldn't be employed (waiting staff, eg). So, no takeaway (which was how we planned to support them to keep them going for the duration). Seems short sighted, but I suppose what you have is a solution without any finesse -- who had time for finesse?
