on smaller counts i backstitch one at a time..on 14ct i stitch 2 at a time. for diagonals..one at time.

i also like the blocky effect rather than stitching through stitches.
i've had to get used to that though as most patterns from the UK i've noticed go through stitches...as to here in the US follow the edges of a stitch

Eeyore looks fab, well done Norman!! :applesauce: :applesauce:
As to backstitch, I do what feels/looks right to me, depending on the design. So I might do every hole or might take it across a few, so maybe try it out and see which you prefer on this design.

I know it'll look great once it's done and Eeyore really comes to life!

That is cute!! Great job!! :applesauce: :applesauce:

With the backstitching, it depends on what the instructions say and/or what it's going to be used for. If it's going to be hung in a frame I tend to do the outline stitch for it, but if I plan on it being a pillow or something that is going to be handled or if it's going to be hung in my kids's bedroms, I'll do every hole using the backstitch so they aren't as easily pulled out.

Alrighty.. got some backstitching done.. I'm going to wait on the pic till tomorrow.. should have a good portion of it done.. I'm off to do some WOW tonight (World of Warcraft), as I do every night..

I was really putting off the back stitching, I usually hate to do it.. now I need to look ahead ot my next project..
