I love that mice one Slinky. I've got the chart as well, but whether I ever get to it or not is another thing ... at least I can watch yours though.
The ABC letters are brilliant, I bet he's going to love it!

Thank you for your kind comments

I've started on the Robots nameplate. It's quite a fiddly little alphabet, lots of colour changes with a few stitches of each here and there. Seems like a lot of effort for such a small design but hopefully it'll be worth it when it's all done.

Anyway, I've just completed 'M',

I'm working this on quite a stiff evenweave (from the Readicut stash some of us bought last year - such a bargain, still get pleasure out of it!) so I'm using it on a frame rather than a hoop. The frame is about 24" wide and a bit unwieldly, but the little M looks quite diddy all alone on the white expanse of fabric.

Anyway, it's Christmas Eve. I shall indulge in some more stitching today before the hordes descend tomorrow. Happy Christmas to you all. :gift: :D

The M looks great, so detailed, and the mouse is cute  . What fabrics are you using? Is the stiffer evenweave Quaker cloth? And I think you said raw linen for the mice?

Thank you all for your lovely comments. I hope you had a good Christmas break.

I'm not sure what Quaker cloth is Mabel! And the mice are on Summer Khaki Belfast linen, a sort-of raw colour.

I was lucky enough to get some time to myself these past few days to catch up on some stitching, inbetween visiting the rellies. The mice have really come on, I'm so pleased with the way they are stitching up. I'll have them done before long!

I was thinking about stitching the fruits in satin threads for extra texture/shine but I can't find anywhere to convert Anchor stranded cotton to Anchor Marlitt. If you can help, please shout! I thought I'd pop into Hobbycraft and match the colours in store. I may not be successful though as Marlitt 'only' comes in 90 colours and you can be sure they'll not have the ones I need to match the cottons. We'll see.

And I've just completed the I on James's nameplate,

Whilst liking the way this looks, I am having misgivings about stitching my son's nickname rather than his actual name. I'm wondering whether he'll tire of it more quickly. But then again, the robots have a limited lifespan anyway - he's hardly going to want this up when he's a teenager regardless of which name is stitched with it!
