I forgot to say! I'm now a quarter of the way through this, having finished the first of four double pages (except the actual measure along the right hand side, which is going to be the last thing I put in, hopefully all in one go to keep the tension nice and consistent). I think it's looking more and more likely that this is going to be Sam's Christmas present rather than his birthday present, as it's taking me longer than I had expected. I did anticipate from the beginning that it might take longer than I'd hoped, but I'm lucky in that his birthday is August so I always had the fallback position of leaving it for Christmas.

My brother was over last week and saw the pictures, his verdict is that Sam is sure to love it. Thank you all ladies for your encouragement, as ever

Great progress

Another week, another update! It took me all of one day and two hours of the next to do all the backstitching on the mother dino, and gave me a monster of a headache. It was worth it.



I've now started on the next dinosaur's tail and can see the half-way line on the gridding! It's really motivating, as is obviously having you all here cheering me on

A monster headache seems almost appropriate for a dinosaur design but I hope it has subsided by now! The backstitch certainly makes her stand out beautifully.

This is really coming along very nicely and you've done such a great job on it!! The backstitching really does make it come to life!!
