This is going to be amazing!!
Question from a newbie - how do you keep such an accurate count of how many stitches you do each day?

I have a spreadsheet on my computer that I usually update the morning after an evening of stitching. Each cell on the spreadsheet represents a 10x10 square on the pattern and all I have to do is type in how many stitches I've stitched in each row of 10 and it will add them up for me, so I very quickly get a total of the stitches I've stitched etc.

That's such a great way to do it! I think I will try this on my next project. Thanks!

Normaly I don't mind parting with my cross stitches, if some one wants it
But if I was doing this I really don't think I could part with it!
It's coming on really well, it's such a lovely design
Well done!

I took a couple of screenshots of my spreadsheet (the thumbnails above) and will try and explain how it works.
The first shot shows the 10x10 blocks/partial blocks on each page. The red lines are the 'page breaks'. In here I simply add together the number of stitches (out of 10) that I've done in each of the 10 rows in the block.
The second shot shows where the spreadsheet adds together all the partial blocks that cover more that one page and turns the cell green once all the stitches in the block are complete.
The third shot shows all the information that I get out my spreadsheet - like how many stitches I've done on each page and what percent complete that is, how many stitches I've stitched, how many I have left, and the last set of columns is a daily record of how I'm progressing.

I've been really struggling with this recently as the area I'm working on it very confetti heavy, so much so that I've only managed 65 -245 stitches a night since the start of November! However things should change as I've just reached the black part of the piano and that's mostly two colours

.
Heres what I've done on this page (almost half way through the page now and just reached the 35% done overall):

I know how the confetti stitches can slow us down, but you're really doing a fantastic job!

It is really looking most amazing and you have my sympathy over all the confetti - it sure slows one down.
Great progress.

You are totally my hero - it looks amazing, your stitches look great even though it is confetti, and your spreadsheet is awesome. I can't wait to get home from work and make my own! (I've been here for more than 12 hours today, but it isn't looking like I'm gonna be done too soon

.)
