This is what I have been up to since my last update, 1500 stitches on Believe:

and started this one just under a week ago and finished the final stitches tonight:

I have another 2 Sampler Girl patterns in my collection and can't wait to stitch them, I enjoyed every stitch of this. It is stitched on 28ct Cream Annabelle 2 over 2 using GASTs and Anchor conversion. I missed out the 'My Work' section to make sure I had enough fabric left at the bottom. I plan on bordering it with fabric and making into a hanging design. DH made me laugh as I realised I was short of 2 GAST colours and he said - can't you convert them into threads you already have? Won't be able to pull the wool over his eyes anymore then.........

! I did as he suggested - thought of the pennies saved towards my Chatelaine!
Speaking of which I think I may sign up for the Micro 4 Chatelaine class as a trial run for the big one! I've been scratching my head figuring out whether ordering the kit from the USA will be any cheaper once tax and RM handling fees are taken into account - I do envy you US stitchers, hope you realise how lucky you are to have such gorgeous stash readily available to you at a cheaper price! Not sure what I will work on next - I joined the
Stitch Specialist SAL and want to catch up on Tree of Stitches by Abi Gurden before I start the new SAL they are hosting in September. Thought it would help me to brush up on my speciality stitches in preperation for the Chatelaine. The instructions for all the stitches are amazingly clear, so I'm looking forward to learning some new stitches on that one.
Happy stitching everyone - thanks for being part of this amazing forum!

Great progress on Believe, and the S&S sampler is lovely!
Isn't it incovenient when our DHs start learning just enough about our hobby to stop us from acquiring new stash

?

I know two updates in as many days - but I wanted to post this one just in case any of you haven't seen the Tree of Stitches design by Abi Gurden and wanted to join in the SAL on the Stitch Specialists Yahoo Group. The new SAL, the Great Escape, will be starting in September so I don't know how long this exclusive design will be available. I stitched parts 1-4 today - there are 15 small parts altogether (apologies for poor pictures!):

I've stitched it on 28ct Jobelan using GASTs of my choice - here we have cross stitch, smyrna stitch, french knots (could have used colonial) and eyelet stitch. If any of you fancy stitching something a bit different using speciality stitches you can join the group
here.

Lovely work, as always
I think ill leave the SAL for the specialist stitchers, way to complicated for me.

What does this group involve? I am so caught up now with my HAED's and need to get back to working on my afghan also, that I don't want to start something that I won't be able to commit to. I belong(ed) to a different yahoo cross stitch group, but don't participate at all anymore. it was way too overwhelming with emails. at the same time it would be lots of fun to learn new stitches. I bookmarked this thread so I know how to get back to it if I decide to get involved. It does sound very intriguing.

Carole - I know what you mean about the group emails in Yahoo Groups! I joined the group last week and downloaded the 15 parts and instructions. Basically each part is a different speciality stitch and with each chart part is incredibly clear instructions on how to stitch each one. You can be as active a member of the group as you wish, there is no requirement to post obsessively, but it is a very chatty group. The Mods of the group include Abi the designer and they are all incredibly friendly and helpful. There is one stitcher in the group who had never cross stitched before and she has completed the design using all the speciality stitches! You could always join the group and stitch the chart at a later date? I'm so glad I joined - the instructions are like having a speciality stitching class and the support of the group is there if you need it.
But I know what you mean about having too many things on the go!! I stupidly believe myself every time when I say "Right I think I have all the designs I ever want to stitch now......"
