 :applesauce: great update and so very glad you are finally done with the 6 strand stitching. I've had to do that with a dimensions kit a time or two, for certain on a tiger cub one, and while it looks great it was not much fun at all to stitch with that many threads at once. I love how your tiger is coming along and don't worry about the misplaced stitches in the background--I am sure that most of us are quite guilty of doing that a time or two :D

Not quite finished with 6-strand, sadly. There is still a patch on the left of the pic, and a bit at the bottom on both sides - but the bulk of it is done. :D :D Hope I don't break more needles on it!
I have actually just discovered a little helper for the 5- and 6-strand areas - the cut-off finger of a surgical-type rubber glove on my index finger! I was SO sick of the needle slipping out of my fingers when tugging the thread through! And it HURT! Yesterday a vague thought crossed my mind that I needed a rubber thimble (which I don't have) - then it popped into my mind that rubber gloves would be good if only they weren't so thick and clumsy. Then I remembered my first aid box had medical rubber gloves in it, which are very thin, as you know. In no time at all I had raided the box, chopped off one of the fingers, popped it onto my index finer, and Hey Presto! It's not exactly comfortable - though I am getting used to it - but it certainly grips the needle well!

It doesn't look all that different to last update, but I have actually stitched quite a lot today! That rubber sleeve on my finger makes such a difference to my tug-tolerance level.

 Oh dear!! Hopefully now that you've sorted out your rubber thimbles that will make your stitching a lot easier. I do hope that you don't break any more needles--that is never a fun thing to deal with. The progress is great--he really is looking very majestic!!

Thank you, everyone! Yes, even without the backstitching, there is such an air of menace about him, isn't there? (there should be a 'scared' smiley!)

WOW! So many posts in only 6 weeks (or so). Since July you have been working on this and wow, your progress is amazing. I've never used 6 strands and frankly cannot imagine doing so. So sorry your needles break and your fingers are sore!
Your piece is looking fantastic though. I really love cats of all types, sizes and kinds. Thanks for sharing and great stitching progress.
